It's not too often the condition, the flint, color, and full history come together on a point--they all converge on this Ex Norman Reid, Indian Hill Museum (and personal find of Norman's) with the bullseye form of Hornstone used--slightly under 3&3/8" by1&5/8", slightly over 5/16" max thickness at the hafting area. Nice flint, found way back in the dark ages, 1950 (read that as older than me by a couple years), Edwards County, Illinois. Best feature? That needle tip, that's some fantastic workmanship, fully patinated, lifetime guaranteed authentic. The stem of the Pickwick (could be called by some other name in Illinois, I guess) is angle flake, it indicates a large flint flake was the preform, not a bifacial (prepared) blade--the Late Archaic knapper fashioned the stem, he ran short of flint (to make a rounded stem): not broken, it was made this way. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, my store does not use paypal--Roy a.
