Lateral edge grinding, heavy basal edge grinding, and a pair of kick-out auricles that are absolutely artwork--textbook, you pick the adjective that you like. The small (13/16" by 1") Dalton base is from a Hopkins County, Kentucky, collection--I've had the piece framed for a couple decades, an artifact so well made it went to ' likely-permanent status'--still have an axe from 1985 that holds that 'permanent' record (for purchased artifacts, anyway). Okay, back on-topic--both faces have extremely light fluting/ thinning flakes removed, the work at a skill level that (I think) reaches 'artistry'--guaranteed real in every detail.
