Sometimes, the 'as found condition', it's a heartbreaker--doesn't mean any of us might not be willing to display this Indiana (Warrick County) Dove as-is, but there's always the 'Should I have it restored?" when you look at a fine point with some ancient use wear--in this case a basal corner break. The Early Archaic maker-user must have done some pretty heavy twisting of the knife to break a corner that way--torque fracture---then, did he try to salvage the knife, or abandon it. Generally speaking, with this much blade remaining, I would expect there would have been additional salvage chipping. Possibly the knife kept working itself free of the sinew, he got tired of reattaching the lashings--who knows, but the piece was field found decades ago, this condition. Both left bevels are some fine beveling, the tip shows where it was used as a polishing feature (use polished)--3&3/4" by 1&1/2", with a sizable medial thickness of 3/8". Guaranteed real, period. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
