The now deceased Gibson County, Indiana, farmer found this Dalton on his farm--that small area off the Adjacent Waabash River is one of the very, VERY few Dalton sites in the entire southern Indiana area--one thing I've never been able to reconcile is why Daltons hardly ever are found on the east bank of the Wabash River--no explanation I've ever heard makes much sense--but around what's now the tiny Johnson community of Gibson County there are Dalton sites. This drill form, I'll assign to the Burlington Chert family--note where a modern chip is seen, patina is easy to contrast--you see the more 'fresh' white of flint that hasn't patinated--chip was there when I bought the old candy boxtop of points; could be twenty years ago the chip happened, could have been the day before I picked the pieces from the estate auction. It exists, the price reflects a bit of modern damage. Length is 1&3/4" by 3/4". You'll find glue on one face, the finder mounted his finds on display boards--maybe the damage occurred when he pried the piece loose, just guessing. There is absolutely great stem edge grinding--neat piece, and you'll never find anyone to question its authenticity. Shipping is $6.00 with checks (or cash) and money orders welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
