Out of the teacher's estate, New Castle, Indiana, area, the Indiana Hornstone Hardin has the expanded base (flared), not the 'knobbed' base--a very well ground base, sides of the stem are also well ground. Made of Indiana Harrison County Hornstone, 2&15/16" by 1&3/16" across the barbs. With as strong as the bevel is, both faces, the blade was originally much wider, likely the barbs were longer, too, almost sharpened-away from so much beveling. Overall there is hardly anything describable as 'damage', just great workmanship and patina. Every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $6.00 with check or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
