From a Perry County, Indiana, beach along the Ohio River, one of the numerous Woodland sites that erode into the stream each winter (during flooding). The total length is 2&11/16", and the beaver tail is a full inch of that length. The thickness of the blade (3/8") is enough to tell you the blade was considerably longer as first made--the Adena hunter sharpened until deciding a new knife blade, thinner along the edges, would be sharper--maybe the tool was used for some other purpose after that, or just discarded, but a couple thousand years of silting-over, then erosion, it ended up in my hands--it's real, period. Shipping is $5.00, checks, cash, or M.O.s are welcomed. If you're buying, please note I do not use paypal--Roy A.
