Three months on the back corner of my desk, I still am not sure if the piece is a simple netweight, or was it used as a maul? The material shows quartz inclusions, so it it a conglomerate--something like porphyry--I know one geologist/ collector out there who can tell--hopefully he'll set me straight on the material. Length is 3&5/8" by 2&1/2", 13/16" max thickness. If the piece was only a net weight the user went to a lot of trouble to double-notch and grind the indentions somewhat smooth.
