The last owner was an estate in Jackson County, Illinois, presumably the Holland was found either in Jackson, or in Union County, where he (the finder) was raised--no tags to tell me which, but patina doesn't need a tag, authentic in every detail. The chert is either Kaolin of something close to that Illinois material--it's the right area for Kaolin--the tip has an iron oxide red color. Lower lateral blade edges are correctly ground (for a VERY early Early Archaic Holland type; basal edge is lightly ground. Length is 3&1/8" by a lance-like 7/8", thinness is close to, just under 5/16" max (and thinning to both tip and base). The chipping is the parallel pressure chipping of the Early Archaic. Shipping is included with the list price, nothing additional, and checks or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
