If I'm going to point out any feature it has to be the multiple (4) basal thinning flakes removed from one face. Not many cultures did that, and the interline fluting somewhat died-out after the Dalton Culture. The body of this big ex G.Noel Illinois hornstone knife isn't Paleo flaking, so that also locates the 4&3/8" by 1&13/16". 7/16" thick knife/ preform to Dalton. I wish there was more provenance to provide, but just getting this much info out of Gary can be tough--one thing is 110% positive, though, is that if Gary says it's real, it IS. The upper blade damage is old, same for that tiny chip on the tip. There may be some lateral edge grinding, and some grinding on the auricles, but the basal edge has work-made damage that made the auriculate base sharp--maybe as first made there was grinding, that'd be reasonable considering the auricles are ground--just a neat piece. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
