Shipping included on this humpback Bannerstone, Pike County, Indiana, origin. Of the 2&3/8" length right at 1&3/8" was drilled before the granite shattered. Did it get too hot while drilling, or did something else go wrong? With as thick (2" height, 1&5/8" wide) as the granite is I wouldn't have expected heat was the cause, especially since a Mid Archaic user/ driller couldn't generate the rotational energy (speed) with cane drills and mud/ sand paste abrasive. Maybe I'm not giving the maker enough credit, I can't say, but I would think the drilling process was slow, you wore out a lot of reeds while drilling granite. In the center of the bore the 'nipple' of the core remains--hard to get in to measure that nipple but it looks to bee about 1/4" long. On the opposite end there is thee smallest trace of a bore hole started--you can 'sight' where the Benton Culture maker had the holes aligned. Neat preform, lifetime guaranteed authentic. I welcome checks or M.O.s, but please note I do not use paypal--Roy A.
