Eight Mattoon, Illinois Mississippian triangles--Madison Points, actual bow-and-arrow projectile points--the longest is barely over 1&1/4"--the THINNEST is 1.5 sixteenths of an inch (shown backlighted) and made from what looks like Kaolin. Note a small notch made on the upper blade of this arrowhead--it had to have a reason, but exactly what is anyone's guess. Five of the eight are made of white, patinated Burlington Chert--two darker triangles look to be 'cherty' grades somewhere between flint and a fossiliferous material--they used what was handy is an easy way to say it. ?The finder cataloged most of his collection with ink--removing it is next to impossible as ink soaks into the flint.. They're real, period. Shipping is $6.00 with checks, cash, or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
