If the piece isn't "Greenstone", it's a green quartzite--dense. Hold the Axe in-hand, you'll understand, this is what the term 'hardstone' was meant to convey. Length of this southern Indiana axe is fractionally under 4" by 2&3/16"; thickness of 1&3/8". The small bit shows considerable use wear. Note on one face is either a nut cracking dimple, or possibly a small indention to force wedges under the bindings--tighten the handle--it was done by design, though. The heel shows the shape of the Ohio River cobble that was worked, not damaged, made this way. The piece is lifetime guaranteed authentic. Shipping is figured on Priority Mail's new cost--$11.00.
