Out of a Sangamon County, Illinois, collection, a small 1&3/4" by 1&1/8" Dalton point--base shows acceptable edge grinding, and some great basal thinning. Considerable mineral buildup on the flint--a glossy fossil-type chert, one I don't have a ready name for, though. The only damage is the very tip of one auricle--one side the auricle 'kicks out', on has a slight chip. A slight 'irregularity' to the body of the dart would indicate the knapper had his hands full working slight 'stacks' in the flint. Good patina and authenticity overcome a lot, though.
