Plenty of basal edge grinding, so the point isn't a Kirk, more of a very short-based Hardin. The one face shows a strong thinning flake removed --not a flute, but it served the same purpose, fitting the dart onto a wooden shaft. Note there was a slight 'stack' at the basal corner--it isn't damage, it's a manufacturing (knapping) problem that couldn't be worked out without breaking the base. Basal grinding goes all the way across the stack, so the Early Archaic maker of the piece treated it as best he could. Great looking banded Indiana Hornstone (found in Spencer County, Indiana), length is 1&1/2" by almost 1"--only 1/4" max thickness. A quality point, guaranteed real in every detail. Shipping is by USPS minimum charge for a small box--$8.00. Payment can be by check, cash, or M.O. but please note I do not take paypal--Roy A.
