A "lense" (layer) form of Indiana Hornstone with some lighter colored fossil inclusions along the length of 3&5/8". Width is very close to 1&11/16", but a thickness of no more than 3/8"--and a very flat 3/8", too. That thickness number tells you the Early Archaic (7500BP) knapper prepared a large, thin biface for finish-out--the knife blade has no twist or curvature tip-to-base...somewhat easier when you're working with a "slab" of flint, not a preform struck from a round ball (nodule) of flint--all that is what knappers have told me, I'd starve if I had to make my own flint knife. You know the actor, he was right "A man has got to know his limitations"...right, Clint.
Out of Green County on the western side of Indiana, one well patinated knife, guaranteed authentic in every possible detail. Shipping is $9.00, checks or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
