A Spencer or Perry County, Indiana, MacCorkle made from our Hoosier Harrison County Hornstone--1&7/8" by 1&11/16", only 5/16" max thickness. My first impression when I pulled this from an old shoebox the family stored "Granddad's Flint" in was "Major use, this point saw a whole lot of ancient ((7500BP) usage--touch-ups of the base, considerable 'shortening' of the blade and a tip they worked extra hard to keep at least partially sharp. When you're looking at points/ knives this worked, you know the hunter had a special affinity for the piece--a 'favorite knife' is what comes to mind. The patina is so heavy, every detail is lifetime guaranteed real. I'll provide the history the widow of the last owner gave me--the history goes with the piece. Provenance matters.
