Thin Kinney Blade (reduced)
This thin Kinney Blade is a gorgeous artifact. I recovered this artifact myself, on a TAAA dig near the Wilson County Sandpits in Sutherland Springs, Texas
It is thin, well made and complete.
Kinney comes in a knife form as well as a projectile form. This point is a bit over three inches, symmetrical in wear and thin, with a concave base. I believe that this point was used as a dart tip or thrusting spear tip.
The Kinney form was used from the Middle Archaic to the Woodland Period.
(5,000 to 2,000 BP)
