Length is 2&5/8", slightly under 1" across the auricles, 4.5 sixteenths inch max thickness. The width/ thickness numbers tell you a lot of flint was anciently removed as the Dalton was sharpened (and used some more). Studying the tip, I think there was some later period use of the Early Archaic point--there are black mineral spots near the tip, but the flint doesn't have an 8500 BP patina at the tip--yet also not modern chipping. Somewhere in Late Woodland or Mississippian Eras some later culture found and utilized the tool there in St. Claire County, Illinois, where it was found. There is excellent basal/ lateral edge grinding, and some flint color change to indicate the Burlington Chert was heat treated. Shipping is $7.00, checks or M.O>s are welcomed, but please note this store does not use paypal--Roy A.
