In the middle of two point-type-classifications, either a Decatur or a Stilwell--flip a coin , you have as much chance one way or the other when classifying this cornernotched point. Ask my opinion, I start my 'list of check-offs' with the basal grinding--the grinding is light enough that I lean towards a Stilwell. Yes, they (Stilwells) CAN have heavy basal grinding, but as they're found on Kirk sites (same people made them), often the basal edge is no more than 'dulled'...Decaturs, on the other hand, they have decent basal edge grinding, and usually heavy grinding if they're the Fractured Base style. Too, this central Indiana Indiana Green Chert Early Archaic type doesn't have a serrated edge, but then not every Stilwell is serrated.
