Out of the Spencer--Perry County, Indiana, area of S.W. Indiana--hornstone (as are something like 98% of ALL Turkey Tails), and exactly 3" in length; width is 1&7/16", 3/8" max thickness. A Late Archaic usage resulted in a tip impact fracture, a subsequent salvage (by the 2500 BP hunter), and likely some frustration as the ancient hunter was trying to work his way around that vein of intrusive quartzite--the tip was salvaged, but it looks like the hunter planned on thinning the width to get the sharper tip he was after. The point was lost before that happened. Still, that line of very hard quartz makes the piece 'striking'--you spot it in a frame before any surrounding points. Under a 10x loop the heavy buildup of patina makes this T.T. a "no brainer" authentic point. Shipping is $8.00, checks, cash, or money orders, but I do not use paypal-type payments--Roy A.
