The flint on this Spencer County, Indiana, Lost Lake is the local "Holland Flint"--chalcedony, really, a very hard silicate material, but on this Lost Lake there are 'vugs'--cavities, that is, filled with iron deposits. Length is 2&7/16" from the VERY heavily ground basal edge to the small cavity that forms the tip--the flint had to have been a bear to knapp, you'd think. The Early Archaic knapper manages, excellent bevel sharpening, that parallel-type flaking seen only in Early Archaic culture points--funny, but beveling a blade, that technique simply died-off after the 7500BP era--why? This piece comes from al old family collection, passed from grandfather on down. It's guaranteed real, period. Shipping is included with the price, and checks or M.O.s are how I take payments. Sorry, I use no sort of paypal-type payment systems--best to all for 2026--Roy A.
