A very creek stained Spencer County, Indiana "Holland Chert" Pinetree sharpened to where it's a dart point, no longer a hafted knife--how long did it start, the width,1&3/16" is some clue--the serrations says the blade was far longer than the present total length of 1&1/2"--nearly double that length would be my best guess. The tip is intact but worn, no longer a sharp point. One barb has a small end nick, but the angled Early Archaic flaking, sort of transverse parallel work, that was the style of one very good ancient knapper. The basal edge is ground--a fact that also distinguishes the point from the Kirk Cornernotch types. Wish I knew just which creek the fellow was hunting--betting there were a bunch more Pinetree artifacts found there. Shipping is $8.00, checks or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
