Part of me wants to call this hornstone point a Pinetree, the other half says Dovetail. The really strong basal grinding--and the basal form itself suggest it's a Dovetail, yet the blade sharpening is 'somewhat' Pinetree--regardless, it's Early Archaic Culture, out of a Warrick County, Indiana, collection. Length is 2&1/8" by 1&1/4"--a moderately thin profile at only 1/4". The twin left-hand-bevels are pure artistry--this was a very good ancient knapper. The ends of the barbs show minor wear, tiny end chips. The tip is intact, shows use as a polishing feature--that rubbed the flint smooth. Maybe there was a sharp tip at one time, but not for over 7500 years. Every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic, period. Shipping is $6.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
