Out of either Edwards or Wabash County, Illinois, very slightly over 2&1/2" by 13/16"--the base has some look of an Adena, but Adena knappers didn't bevel an edge the way this Early Archiac Cobbs is done (sharpened, that is). Too, almost every flake is made by pressure chipping, not Woodland-type percussion chipping. There is no edge grinding to the base. The tip was used (slightly) as a gouge, you can spot a very small impact fracture running from tip to the medial ridge. The flint is either Illinois--Indiana Green Attica Flint or something very similar--the find area is just off the Wabash River, so numerous cherts were traded up-and-down that wide river. One note--the beveled edge shows considerable use dulling, they used this knife, and heavily sharpened it. Shipping is $6.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
