The first time I saw this "Spall Knife" I immediately decided "That's not going anywhere...except my collection". Yeah, well, my cardiologist had other plans, I'm paying for his work (and his Porsche, lol). The piece comes from Trigg County, Kentucky, creek, a fractured-off-hornstone nodule (spall) with cortex forming the edge--a 'rind' of limestone. Length is barely under 4&1/2" by 1&9/16". I get a 5/8" caliper measured thickness on what I'd call "the heel" (it's anciently fashioned to fit the HEEL of your hand--hold it, you'll understand--left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter, the knife fits either hand. The creek patina speaks for itself, it's simply real. Shipping is $6.00 checks or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
