A 'local' collection, but a flint (1&7/8" by 1&5/16") that's "out-of-area" (southwest Indiana) for me--either Indiana, Kentucky, or even far southern Illinois areas produce points made of Bailey Chert, and the degree of sheen (light gloss), fossil inclusions and of course color, that's what I'd think this Lost Lake was made from. There is basal grinding, decent grinding, so that would indicate a Lost Lake with very few ancient sharpenings of the blade (not yet a beveled edge on either face). The price reflects that anciently dinged barb and the basal corner below which has a tiny end chip. Again, those two spots are 7500BP damage. The tip, that shows an extremely small chip that doesn't have the same ancient patina--it's either collector damage or a farming-made chip--could be either. No one wants to unwrap a "Well darn" surprise, so any damage is stated here--that's the only way I'll sell something.. The piece is 100% guaranteed real. Shipping is $7.00. I welcome either checks or money orders, but I do not take paypal-type payments--Roy A.
