Stats first: length is 2&7/16" by 1&1/8", the max thickness is only slightly below 1/4"--that's a thin blade. Where the finder grew up was in the Elizabethtown, Kentucky, area, so I'm expecting this flint is actually Sonora--in places (the tip) the hematite color of Sonora is more clear--it sort of depends on what light you look at the point as to making a 'call' between Hornstone and Sonora--I favor Sonora. Now, the thinness is right for either Buck Creek points or Wades, but the ancient salvage to the stem took away a little of the stem--the Late Archaic/ Early Woodland hunter used grinding to return the point to useful stage--but that also made the stem a bit harder to classify--if I type the piece, the thinness points to Buck Creek. As you'll note, the point has never been cleaned, but the blade does have a small spot or two of glue from being on a wall hanging--should come off easily. Good point, I think, real. Shipping is $6.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
