Fossil chert outcrops in a number of places, one of them being the small town of Harrodsburg, Indiana--even more unusual is that fossil chert also turns out near the Kentucky town of the same name. Odd co-incidence. These ten points, some heat treated (more red in color) are from a Dubois County, Indiana, collection, so they're undoubtedly from the Indiana quarry (source), some being Mid Archaic (small red point at the top) through Woodland (Adena) styles. The longest is at bottom left (Adena) at 2&1/16"--one thing they have in common is the high percentage of fossils, but several of the points have a higher silicate level--more gloss to the chert. They also have "long usage" to their credit, expect a ding, a salvaged tip or basal corner. They're real tools, period. Shipping is $7.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use electronic payments (like paypal)--Roy A.
