My BEST guess, this was a Thebes point that 'salvaging' converted into a drill form. The blade was narrowed and then narrowed some more, but with no usable cutting edge left to sharpen, an enterprising flint knapper changed course, made a 1&15/16" by 1&1/8" drill. There is a tiny flat 'platform' on what would be the tip--for whatever reason the piece wasn't made with a sharp tip. There is some dulling of the basal edge, but it's very minor grinding. I have one of my old catalog numbers from turn-of-the-century, I'll locate the notebook with the county of record (Indiana). Every detail is guaranteed real. Shipping is $6.00, checks, cash, or M.O>s are welcomed, but please note that I do not use paypal-type payment services--Roy A.
