Much as I'd like this to be a Hardin, I think the piece is one of the multitude of Hopewell point styles--I can't find any basal grinding; Hardins should have grinding. The flaking is actually extra well done, more pressure chipping, more fine flakes than you'd expect on a Hopewell---they COULD make extraordinarily fine points, but so often their knapping was 'tool oriented', not made to show off (Ross Knives or super thin Lowe points some extra fine Snyders are the exceptions). This Hopewell is very close to 2&1/2" by 1&5/8", almost 3/8" max thickness, so the blade was considerably longer as-first-made. The rounded tip shows very little use polish (one small spot shows flake wear-down (shine, at the pencil-point), but the edge is sharp--a sharp edge would seem to indicate the piece was lost or abandoned right after the last sharpening--not much additional use. I left the soil on the piece, wash it of display as-is--you get that choice. It's guaranteed real, period. Shipping is INCLUDED, checks or M.O>s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
