A Gibson County, Indiana, find, this Hornstone Hopewell point knapped from the center of a very large Harrison County (Ind. ) nodule. Judging by the very, very large base the blade itself was likely at least twice the present overall length of 2&11/16" (1&5/8" wide). You can see and mentally 'fill in' how big that blade must have been. It's interesting that the basal edge shows slight dulling--it's not ground like a Dovetail, but was definitely dulled--unusual for Hopewell knappers to do that. The finding family walked sites along the Wabash River, an area that had a string of Hopewell camps. Interesting, colorful, and 100% guaranteed real. Shipping is $6.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
