In the Ft. Payne-- Muldrough Chert chert grouping, this Paleo Uniface 'ridgeback ' knife is 2&13/16" by 1&1/16", 5/16" on either end, 1/4" in the center. The piece is a creek find from the Webster County, Kentucky, area. Both edges of the semi-curved Paleo tool are pressure chipped to use as spokeshaves--whether for wood or bone, well, it could be either--that's what they did back then, Rusty (pardon the quote from a favorite movie.) Both ends are wider than the center, specialized scraping ends that fit the hunters' multi-tool design--both ends have wear (or polish). One basal corner is a gouge--still sharp. The 'ridge face' has the distinctive flute from either end, a 'classic ridgeback Uniface technique--see enough of them, you recognize the ridge-thinning trick immediately. Every detail is guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $6.00, checks, cash, or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
