Out of Martin County, Indiana so many years back I can't recall the year, all found along the East Fork of the White River. The longest two are 3&3/16", a snap base hornstone point that looks Late Archaic Culture--VERY nice knapping work. The stemmed knife is also hornstone of a different form, still has the field dirt (as I just found out by handling it)--the stem sides are heavily ground which would be a trait from an earlier culture--moderately thick at 1/2" max. The fossil chert (Harrodsburg fossil chert) Adena is 2&13/16", but shows you why fossil chert was heat treated to make it more 'knappable'--thickness is a strong 9/16". That thickness should have made hafting the piece difficult, I'd think, but there in the stem the thickness drops to only 5/16", so the Woodland Culture hunter knew he had to work on the thickness if he wanted to fit a handle onto the chert 'head'.. The last piece is a Late Archaic Turkey Tail, hornstone, but with some tip and base wear (tip was a rounded scraper edge and the stem was slightly fractured on the basal edge. All four are real in every detail. Shipping is $6.00 with checks, cash, or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
