Part of my collection for the last dozen or more years, found in either Union or Webster County, Kentucky, by an area creek hunter. The length is slightly over 1&7/8" by close to 1&1/8"--what's interesting is how thin the Paleo hunter made the lance tip: 1/4" (there is a very small stack in the hornstone that's slightly thicker, but that's a 'high point' nothing more). Both faces are fluted, but the side with the stack caused the flute channel to stop after a short distance, veer off to the left. When flint has a stack, you can bet some ancient knapper was frustrated--you don't just remove the thick spot, the whole blade will break. Here there was sufficient flute channel to haft the lance tip, the Clovis hunter heavily ground base and lateral edges, used the point. Above the flute terminus there must have been double the present length--based on the basal width it'd translate to a 4"+ Paleo--you can spot all the ancient sharpening, the length reduction, and finally a tip chip that may have been the very last use of the lancepoint. EVERY detail is patinated from a dark grey to almost a green-ish color--other points found in that creek, they all come out the same--greenish.
