The rounded basal form, when you have the kick-out barbs, I use the Pickwick classification--Mulberry Creeks, about the same Late Archaic timeperiod, you get some crossover in form, same with some very large Adena points (knives). This 3&11/16" by 1&1/2", 3/8" thick hafted knife is made of a creek patinated Dover Flint--a good quality of that Western Kentucky Dover, too, good gloss. Check out the pic of the stem, that's creek patina worked into the flint, 'proper aging' some would say. While you can see some ancient usage on the blade (and stem) there isn't any true damage--minor use-made nicks don't count IMHO. One blade edge shows more sharpening action than the opposite, you can spot the more in-curvate edge where all the sharpening, the use, took place. Nice knife, guaranteed authentic in every detail. Shipping is $8.00, payment can be by check or money order, but please note that I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
