A point from the 'lifetime finds' of a very elderly Gibson county, Indiana, farmer--now, is the flint Indiana Indian Creek, or is it Illinois Kaolin Flint--flip a coil, I think you could make a case for either of those cherts. Length is very slightly over 1&1/2" by 1&1/16". If (as I assume) this was a Stilwell Point, there was little basal edge grinding--some, yes, but it's light. Stilwell points, often found with Kirks, well, basal edge grinding wasn't top priority with the culture. The blade--I wouldn't even venture a guess as to how many sharpenings the edge went through, but Stilwell pints can be very long in stage one form. The Early Archaic user may have exhausted the cutting edge, but a colorful, guaranteed authentic cornernotch remains. Shipping is $7.00, postal minimum these days, and checks, cash, or M.O.s are the only payment forms this store accepts. Thanks for looking--Roy A.
