A Lawrence County, Illinois, Pinetree dart--or Palmer, as that Illinois county is right next to Indiana, Palmer points being something you'd see more in Indiana. The basal edge shows grinding, so for that reason I wouldn't call it a Kirk Cornernotch dart--someone else might use that designation as Kirk, depends on whether (in your experience) Kirk darts DID use basal grinding...they just failed to grind bases on their larger hafted knives. Arrowheads, like life, there are always exceptions to the rules. The dart is made of a glossy form of Burlington--Crescent Quarry Chert--patina is obvious, mineral deposits everywhere--length is slightly under 1&3/8" by 7/8", but OBLY 3/16" max thickness. One barb shows an ancient (use-made) end chip--nice 'adjustment notch' made in the base to better haft the piece. Guaranteed real, period. Shipping is $8.00 (USPS Holiday rates, unfortunately)--checks, cash, or M.O>s are welcomed, but paypal is not taken--Roy A,
