One fine piece of Hornstone--the flint itself, that is--the point is a Mid-to-Late Archaic dart, likely classified as a Big Slough, although I'm not 100% convinced--with that rounded base--that there isn't a more precise classification some archaeologist has 'coined'--the Ferry Expanding Stem seems closer ( see Projectile Points.Com for more examples). The piece has an un-ground basal edge, but some of the finest chipping (knapping) of the later Archaic periods--the finer grade material may have had something to do with it, better (higher silicate) flints working so much easier. Length is 2" by 1&5/16" with a 5/16" medial ridge. Out of Spencer County, Indiana, every detail of the point is guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $8.00 (USPS minimum anymore), checks, cash, or money orders are the ONLY ways I take payment-Roy A.
