Some points, size & color come together--they do on this 'river find'. Now was the piece found on the Indiana side, Vanderburgh or Posey, or on the Kentucky side--Henderson County--that the finder didn't mark, but you know the area of the find, and that Motley's are a point indigenous to that river. This colorful piece measures 3&5/16" by 1&1/4"--one face has a slight 'stack', so thickness hits max at 7/16" measured there--but thins considerably toward tip and base. The tip is knapped into the cortex of the Hornstone. One note on that cortex--it looks like an edge flake broke free and the Motley culture knapper made a small repair--you can feel use polish in that slight notch-in, so it may have served a secondary purpose as well. The basal edge is dulled--won't describe it as 'ground', but it's deliberately dulled. An excellent blade, guaranteed in every detail. Shipping is $8.00 with checks, cash, or money orders the only ways I take payments. Sorry, that leaves out paypal--I do not use it--Roy A.
