A Gibson County, Indiana point that has all the patina of a creek find--it's from an estate, so that's my 'best guess' having seen so many creek finds--patina from some 7500 years worked-down into every crevice. Now, might some of the soil come off with scrubbing--possibly, but I have no plans to try, it's 100% real, it shows it in every detail. Length of the Indiana Hornstone point is slightly over 2&3/16" by 1&3/16"; thickness is a fraction over 1/4". The tip shows use-rounding, base shows decent edge grinding. Classification: a friend called the piece a MacCorkle, but I'm still convinced the base isn't 'cleft' enough for a MacCorkle... nor the basal lobes as square as most of the points shown in Overstreet or Edler--I see more of a Rice Lobbed point or Lecroy. Is that a 'distinction without a difference?" Decide for yourself.. It's real, period. Shipping is $6.00, checks (or cash), Money orders all welcomed, but I do not use paypal--Roy A.
