Price includes the shipping on this western Kentucky broken Paleo point--the creek finder wrote "Clovis" in a green ink--it's definitely NOT a Clovis, but with the auricles, the lateral edge grinding, and that flute, it IS in the Cumberland family/ cluster. Tan chert is the best I'll attempt to identify the material--there is a very slight mottling color, but only in certain lighting--the chert may be related to Dover/ Ft. Payne, and that's my 'best guess'-- it just depends on the light--1&3/4" as-is, and if restored a little under 2&1/2" would be my estimate. Both the snapped auricle and tip are ancient damage. Note that the Paleo knapper tried twice to get the flute to 'run', one strike stopped short, one is about 11/16" from the center of the piece to the hinge fracture--the shorter hinge fracture is to the left of the main channel (see close up photo). A friend, D. Schroyer, bought the small collection twenty years or so back, sold me what he decided he could part with--the piece has been in my basement since--100% real, period. I welcome checks or M.O.s, but do not use paypal--Roy A.
