The side notch came from an auction group I came by a couple years back--I took the "H" stenciled on the light tan chert Knight Island to indicate Hopkins County. The style, the very thin profile (3/16" thick), and the length,1.75", they're right for the very late Woodland Knight Islands where the Hopewell peoples were first using bow-and-arrow technology--I've never quite figured why it took peoples in the Americas so long after the rest of the world to start using actual arrows, but the very late Hopewells were the first (here) to use a bow. Good point, patinated, and from the look of it there were sharpenings of the arrow--they must have used the piece more than once. Authentic, period. Shipping is $6.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, i do not use paypal--Roy A.
