One thing with creek finds, you're more likely to get them with the barbs intact--field finds, not so much. So much as the finder could relate, his father found the piece in Trigg County, Kentucky--it's a tan-patinated Hornstone, 1&13/16" by almost 1&1/2". Max thickness is near the tip, 5/16", and that number should tell you the blade was considerably reduced in size from the stage one length--a lot of sharpen-and-use cycles. Note: I think this is the HEAVIEST basal grinding I've ever come across on a Kirk point--but there is no beveled edge work to type it as a Lost Lake, so it has to either BE a Kirk, or it's transitional 'bridge' between those two Early Archaic culture knife forms. Every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic, period. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O>s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
