An old friend, John T. found the extra large Bakers Creek in a Daviess County--Ohio County, Kentucky, creek fifteen or more years ago--that's how long I've had the piece--made of Indiana Harrison County Hornstone, 3&5/8" by1&3/16"--3/8" thickness in the upper blade reads (on my caliper) as the single thickest spot. Very heavy rub polish can be felt on the tip, so that explains the slight 'rounding'. Like some, this Bakers Creek and the related Lowe points, there is stem edge grinding--some of only a few Hopewell related point types that used basal grinding (See Steuben points, too). This long, this thick, undoubtedly a hafted knife as most Bakers Creeks were projectiles, some of the Hopewell peoples first attempts at bow-and-arrow points. Every detail is guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $6.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
