Hopewell Cluster of points, this Lowe--or Bakers Creek, you choice of which you think 'fits' is from a Coles County, Illinois, collection--it's made of Indiana Harrison County Hornstone, so I'd suspect the piece was originally from Indiana. Length is slightly under 2&3/4" due to that tiny tip chip. Like some Lowe points, it has a ground base and stem sides. One other note on the stem: it's thick, somewhat over 1/4". These late Hopewell points are generally made extra thin, in the 1/4" 'flatness', but something in the way the flint knapped, the point maker couldn't thin the stem properly--or maybe that 'hump' was intentional--1500 years to late to ask him. The piece is almost 99% chance a creek or river find based on the excellent patina--the tip ding, to my inspection, is collector damage. It happens. Shipping is $5.00, checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
