Nice piece, creek stained (mineralized) with black speckles--is it Crescent Quarry chert, or a grade of Kaolin Flint--it one of those, and coming out of Jersey County, Illinois collection, it could be either. Length is 4&1/8", width of the Mid-to-Late Archaic artifact is 1&3/8". My caliper gets to 9/16" along the medial ridge--serious knife, made for work, not show. If there is any dulling to the stem it's from rubbing against the lashings holding to to a handle--stem edges have the same dullness as the worn blade edges. The tip has very minor wear from use--not damage, use worn-down, not a sharp point. You'd expect that on a klong-used hafted knife. Nice, lifetime guaranteed authentic piece. Shipping is included with the price. I welcome checks, cash, or M.O.s, however I do NOT use paypal--Roy A.
