No "hype", this Full Groove Early Archaic Period axe doesn't need it--pictures show the fine condition, the excellent choice of granite used--at least I'd use 'granite', maybe some geologist out there in Delaware might correct me. Color should be true, pictures taken under an Ott Lite (natural spectrum) lamp--greenish grey (Taupe, for anyone who's done some contract painting, lol). The piece came from an Edwards County, Illinois, collection, but a stick-on label once read "Lambert Auction", purchased by the last owner ten years back--then part of his estate. The label was in so bad of condition it took a loop to read it--label now removed, may be a bit of glue still on the one face (a dark spot). Length is (caliper read) between 4&7/8" and 4&15/16"; the height maxes out at 3&1/2" on the front groove ridge, and thickness is right on 2". The Early Archaic hunter repaired a small chip on one corner of the bit, ground smooth, fully patinated--the rest of the bit is intact but use-worn, a tool, not a display for the 7500 year past hunters' friends to admire. Every detail is real. Shipping is $11.00, Priority Mail, checks or M.O.s-welcomed, however I do not use paypal-Roy A.
