Out of Henry County, Ohio, one very 'classic form' Thebes point, 2&5/16" by 1&1/2"--barely over5/16" max thickness in the blade center. The strong bevels from repeated blade sharpening indicate a much longer cutting blade as first made--probably off-topic, but recognizing a Thebes that had never been sharpened, the blade was still large (and rounded) we might have trouble recognizing it AS a Thebes. The flint here is a very light tan or off-white--I'll double check my DeRegnaucourt "Midwest Chert Types" book before attempting to say for sure what particular chert it is--sometimes you think you know, but a little research is helpful (if you're listing a piece). One barb-end has an Early Archaic age clip, just a chip, and there is an equally ancient flake that came off on one side of the basal corner--both minor, but you know up-front any damage (if you're buying). Basal grinding is Thebes-type super heavy--as is patina. The point is real. Shipping is $9.00, checks or M.O>s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
