Sometimes it's fun just to display a piece from my collection. Hey, you're around some neat flint if you're always looking "to see what's out there"...whether it's in a field, a creek, or what some estate sale has to offer. Long years ago an old friend offered part of a collection he'd bought: it held this 'oddity', a Lost Lake, Hornstone, massive, but the tip gone. Every bit of knapping you see is ancient, there isn't a new chip on the piece--so WHY??? Was it done 7500 years ago by some Early Archaic knapper with a sense of humor--or did the extra notches have a purpose" Then how about the modifications done on the one barb, what was that for? To date, no one has had more than theories on this western Kentucky piece--me included. Best to everyone here in front of Labor Day--Roy Autry
