Out of the Massac County, Illinois, area, a Mid Woodland point type I classified as a "Grand Point"--Hopewell related, you can see some similarities to Snyders points in the basal notches--and that the base is not ground. The knapping, though, is more pressure chipping than percussion knapping. The flint is a higher gloss material, its higher silicate content made pressure flaking much finer than percussion, the main face having parallel oblique flake scars--that angle-flaking is some seriously nice work, 1&7/8" by 1&3/8"--thickest spot is 3/8" on a small 'stack'. From what I learned the finder was a riverbank hunter--Ohio River--100% guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $8.00, checks, cash, or money orders are the three payment options. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
